Photographic print FAQs
What type of files do you accept?
We accept 8-bit per channel RGB JPEG or TIFF files only.
What is the difference between straight to print and color corrected?
Straight to print is exactly that: your files are queued directly to their printer with no operator intervention, and nobody looks at them.
Color corrected means your files go to our digital analyzer workstation, where they are opened and inspected for color and density, and corrections are applied if needed.
Do you check my files for quality or resolution?
No. Even with color correction selected, we do not inspect files for defects, flaws or resolution problems. If you think a file might have any of these issues, flag it in the special instructions on your order and we will look at it with you.
This kind of review is not possible on straight to print orders, because they go directly to the printer. If you have any concern about a file, choose the color corrected service.
Are these inkjet prints?
No — and this has to be the question we are asked most. These are silver halide prints, considered digital C prints.
I want a custom size you do not offer. How do I order it?
Set your image up at the size you want, then extend the canvas around it to the size you will order from us. For example, for a 13x19, build the image at 13x19 and extend the canvas to 16x20, then order a 16x20.
If you skip this step you will get a print back at the wrong size. If you would like us to trim the print, let us know — there is a fee, and please supply cut marks.
What is your return policy?
You have 14 days from receipt of the order to request a replacement or refund. Beyond 14 days, we reserve the right to determine whether a replacement is due. Please inspect your prints as soon as your package arrives and contact us immediately if there is any damage or concern.
